Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No this didn't look like the pattern envelope - but it's not surprising as I am not so boney and I used a geometric print which makes the design lines of the dress more visible. In fact, I wish that they girl on the pattern cover had worn a different colour so that you could get a good look at the style lines of the dress. Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were very good and the diagrams were helpful. I got a little bit stuck when attaching the two cross-over front pieces but by sticking to the instructions it all came together without having to pull any hair out at all. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I particularly like the drape hanging down the front. It feels really nice swishing around whilst you walk. Fabric Used:
I used a printed jersey knit from Ditto Fabrics online. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used View A but used the long sleeves.
I didn't use the lining piece and instead attached clear elastic to the neckline. I wouldn't do this again, as it looks too puckery and the other dresses with this pattern look so much neater around the neckline, that I would do what they did next time and use the proper lining pieces.
The other thing I would do next time is cut the back skirt panel on the fold instead of in two pieces. The back seam line doesn't look very nice really, and it seems a bit unnecessary - perhaps it saves on how much fabric you need to buy? But I would cut the back skirt piece on the fold instead of the drape piece being cut on the fold - the instructions said to cut this on the fold but there really is no reason to do this, so I'd swap the pieces around on my cutting mat next time. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would highly recommend this pattern and I will be sewing it again.
