Pattern Description: Misses Robe Belt Tops Shorts and Pants
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Sort of. I made the robe.
Were the instructions easy to follow?I didn't really follow them, but they looked like they would have been easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The belt for the robe is way too short. I really should go back and add another foot, but I can live with it like it is. Also I added 2 belt loops and a loop in the neck to hang the robe. Gotta have a hanging loop. Also, I wish I had added a pocket or two. The flowy Lily Munster sleeves were very 70's somehow and very fun.
Fabric Used:I used a slub jersey knit and a very lightweight jersey knit for the contrast. I used fusible interfacing in the collar and belt. Next time I would use a lighter weight knit interfacing if I could. That part was kind of stiff.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I decided to make this into an experiment and cut this pattern out of a knit fabric instead of a woven. This changed the sewing instructions completely, but I love the overall end product. I felt like it was a good pattern to alter because it was so simple.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I would sew it again. Maybe i'll try it in a woven. I also thought about altering it a bit to make a drapey knit cardigan type of garment. I would recommend it to others.
Conclusion: This was a fun experiment. I am going to tackle the shorts and pants soon to make some easy loungewear.
