Pattern Description:
Lined shirt dress with fitted bodice, waistband, flared skirt, optional sleeves and collar. Pattern Sizing:
I made a size 12 with a 2" FBA and width taken out of the bodice back. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, apart from the fact I added a dart with my FBA and I used contrasting buttons. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but there were about 50 steps! What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really love the skirt and pocket bands. The dress is comfortable and flattering. It is very versatile. Fabric Used:
Royal blue cotton lawn - very light and perfect for spring. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
A 2" FBA was required and I took some width out of the back. I have a large bust and narrow back, and next time I would take more out of the bodice back as I had to really stretch the waistband to get it to fit the bodice back. The back is quite loose on me, and it shows. I also made a rookie mistake and didn't smooth out the armscye when I was adjusting the pattern. The armscye is too low and you can see the top of my bra. But as I said, rookie mistake. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will make this dress again, perhaps with self-covered buttons. I also had the intention of making the sleeved version with a contrast collar, sleeve cuffs, pocket bands and buttons. But we'll see how ambitious I am next time! I definitely recommend this pattern to others. Conclusion:

I love your dress. The color is beautiful on you. I also liked looking at your two dogs!

May I ask what you used for lining, and if you lined the whole thing? I am going to make this dress, but am afraid all that fabric and all htat lining will be just too much.

Hi Mrs Brown, I used white lawn and I did line the whole thing. If you wanted to skip the lining step, you really could as long as your fabric isn't too sheer.
