Pattern Description:
Mid-season jacket without lining, cinched at the waist with subtly gathered sleeves and a retro-inspired round collar.
The pattern envelope contains a full size pattern and a detailed instruction booklet. This pattern is fully bilingual (french/english) Pattern Sizing:
European sizes are on the french pattern which I used. Being German I understood these just fine. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did, but I changed a couple of things. I lengthened the skirt to make it knee length on my frame
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they are well illustrated and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the top stitching along the seams. It gives the pattern a really professional look. Also the bodice comes together really easily. Fabric Used:
Grey sparkly coating Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lenghtend the bodice pieces, but a little bit too much as the skirt weight pulled the waist line down a lil more. And I also added length to the skirt pieces Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I am looking at making a short version in a lightweight denim for the summer. Conclusion:
This is a great make for someone who wants to make their first jacket or coat. I had never done it before and was really scared, but this was a great starting pattern. It is a shame there are not instructions on how to line it but I am sure some bloggers will share this in the end. Otherwise a great spring and early autumn coat!
Very cute coat! Great job for a first time coat maker!!!
