Pattern Description: Knit knee-length dress with front surplice (mock wrap) neckline, short kimono sleeves and an easily customizable midriff section. The skirt features in-seam pockets and falls in the soft folds of a vintage half-circle skirt. The pattern includes optional stripes placement guide, cup sizing A-D and a bust alteration line.
Pattern Sizing:Multi-Size 30"-50" high bust, 25"-50" waist
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's very easy to customise the pattern to suit me. I may not ever go back to the 'big four' if StephC of Cake Patterns keeps coming up with winning patterns like this one. It's also great to be able to support an Indie patternmaker who livesonly across the Tasman Sea, so the patterns are quite affordable.
Fabric Used:polyester knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made an FBA (relatively easy compared to many patterns), added 3/4 length sleeves and shortened the midriff.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes and Yes.
Conclusion: It's a winner. This is my third version, and I may yet make a plain navy one - would give me a base for wearing my scarf collection. I have some more detail on my blog: Tiramisu III
I love the fabric and the fit looks great. Thanks for all the reporting of your fit experiments. It's very helpful.
