Pattern Sizing:Burda's 56-80 which suit 3 monthes to 1 year old babies. I used size 80 for my 1 yo grand daughter. The sizing is perfect IMO
Did it look like the photo in the magazine once you were done sewing with it?
No because I change the cap sleevesinto long sleeves
Were the instructions easy to follow? I am used to Burda's language now. I can say they were pretty good.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the peter pan collar and the grosgrain ribbon
I hated attaching the cuff to the sleeve. Baby clothes are so tiny that they can be tricky to manage. Before tackling the second cuff it came to my mind that the clear darning foot of my sewing machine could come in handy and it did. Click Here
Fabric Used: Polyester ottoman and for the body and contrasting douppioni for the collar and self-covered buttons
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I changed the cap sleeves into long puffy sleeves. Photo of the finished dress
I used the pattern of #146 in the same issue for the sleeve head and sew the two rows of Grosgrain on the cuff before attaching them. Click here. Would you sew it again? I don't think so. Would you recommend it to others? Definitely. Depending on the fabric choice, it can be casual or more formal.
Conclusion: The dress suited my grand daughter perfectly and her parents were delighted. More on this in my blog.
Very beautiful!
