|Pattern Description: |
Sem-fitted tapered pants
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, with modifications!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
This is a McCall's Easy pattern with just a few pieces and simple instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the side inserts. The insert is a few inches wide and runs down the leg. It is handy for adding contrast fabric and also for the extra leeway to adjust the pattern to fit.
Medium weight denim with a touch of stretch from JoAnns Fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut out the size 10 and basted it with 5/8 seams (with muslin fabric). It was too small, so I made the seams all 1/4. That made for a perfect fit--better I think than if I had used the size 12. To save fabric, I also had cut the muslin pieces off at shorts length and I liked that so much in my prototype that I used it for the denim. I live in Florida so we wear a lot of shorts.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will sew it again-lots of possibilities for different fabrics and pants lengths. I really like this pattern!
