Pattern Description: Semi-fitted top, dress have optional front and back vertical darts, self-neck binding and optional invisible side seam zipper. A, B: Self armhole binding. I made view C
Pattern Sizing: 8 - 22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? not completely
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy and very helpful
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the looks of the renditions on the pattern envelope. I also like the simplicity of construction and the built in alterations supplied by Palmer and Pletsch.
Fabric Used: a double faced cotton blend jersey from Mood Fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added sleeve bands in the contrasting side of the fabric.
My fabric was too heavy to fold the double layer neck facing over so I served the seam allowance and left the bias facing exposed.
Then I added a bias lower band. After carefully looking at the finished product, I made a second top from the leftover fabric that is more flattering on me.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? The pattern was boxy on me, most likely because I did not sew the optional darts due to the weight of the fabric.
I doubt I'll sew it again but there is no reason not to recommend it to others.
Conclusion: There pattern is fine but its shape did not flatter me. I also prefer to sew knits with as few darts as possible and found this pattern needed the back darts for shaping.
