Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I changed the fabric choice, but the shape looks the same. Notice how most of the models are cocking one leg forward? these pants look better that way. Were the instructions easy to follow?
There are extra wide seam allowances for fitting, but I didn't do most of the extra fitting steps.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The basic shape is great. I think this crotch shape fits me pretty well.
Fabric Used:
pinstriped stretch twill from fabric.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
When I traced the pattern I eliminated the shaped pocket, and then added welt pockets. I made these first in a size 14, forgot about the wide seam allowances, and ended up taking them in at least 4 inches at the sides. This time I measure the actual pattern pieces, and decided to make the size 10 and use 5/8" seam allowances. I took in the back waist seam a little more and added elastic to the back waistband - not enough to look gathered, but enough to hold it against my back when I sit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
yes, after I figure out how tight I really want the backside to be..
