Pattern Description: I've already written a full review of this wonderful free tank top pattern. After making two of these already, I decided I am still not done. So I made it into a peplum top. I am going peplum crazy these days
This is how I did it.
I measured where her natural waist lies. ( I asked her to bend sideways and she obliged me! ) Using that as my guide, I chopped off 3.5 inches from the top. Then I slashed that piece from the bottom to almost but not through. Then I taped one side and spread the pattern out as evenly as I could. It's almost a quarter circle. Remember this is on the fold so when you cut it out, it will half circle.
Here's a photo which explains this better. Also look at my tip above on how to add a flounce. Peplum is basically a big flounce.
I then added seam allowances to all the pieces and sewed it in this order.
1. Sewed one shoulder.
2. bind the neck
3. Sew the other shoulder.
4. Bind the armholes.
5. Attach the flounce to front and back.
6. Sew the side seam.
7. To finish the peplum, I sewed this cute elastic. It gives it some weight too!
