Pattern Description: Misses Knit Tops. I made the gathered front version with View A sleeves.
Pattern Sizing: 4-16, I made a 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not really, much worse.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Instructions were fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? After assembling the top, I don't think this style suits me. It was not a success.
Fabric Used: Modal blend jersey knit, which was perhaps too thin and too transparent for this top.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I followed the suggestion from this review, and I did a quasi-FBA to make sure that the underbust seam actually fell below my bust, which was a good idea. However, I failed to make the fabric loop longer and loosen the front gathers, so the front pulled up in a very unflattering way. It looked like there was a giant bow stretching across my chest. Ugh.

So I ripped out the loop, loosened the gathers and reattached the loop. It was still not good:

At this point I decided that this top was not salvageable. It was never going to look good enough for me to wear, so I called it quits. I think that a slightly thicker knit or one with a print/pattern, may have looked better.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will not sew it again. The style looks silly on me.
Conclusion: My first fail of 2013. Oh well. It's a pattern that has worked for others, just not me.

I think it is very cute! Put it away for a couple of days, and then try it on again.
