Pattern Description:
Lined A-line coat in two lengths with princess seams, sleeve and closure variations. Pattern Sizing:
8-24 I think that the pattern is generously sized Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
The lapel are is not nearly as open as on the pattern envelope. Click Here Back Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions?? I didn't use them. Coat goes together very easily. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I particularly liked the lapels and princes seams. The only thing I disliked about this pattern is the side seam pockets. I think they make me look much "hippier" than I am. Fabric Used:
The fabric board described it as being "boucle" but it looks more like a boiled wool. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Made a 1" FBA and cut the upper back two sizes larger to facilitate my wide back but took off 5/8 at the shoulder. I cut the lower pocket bag 1" deeper and rounded the front lower corner openings to match the rounded lapels. I also changed the one-piece sleeve into two pieces. I added a faux belt. Finally I used tailoring techniques in the collar, lapel, sleeves and hems to give the coat a couture look. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
