Pattern Description: CHILDREN'S AND GIRLS' DRESSES AND LEGGINGS: Above mid-knee dresses A, B, C, D have short sleeves and gathered skirts; dress A has neck and sleeve ruffles, fabric flower with ribbon; dress B has neck and sleeve ruffles, elastic in hem; dresses C, D have elastic casing in sleeves, shaped hem; dress C has purchased trim at neckline; dress D has contrast neck and sleeve ruffles; pull-on leggings E, F have elastic waist, stitched hems; leggings F have ruffle at lower edges.
Pattern Sizing I made a 6 in a size 7 length because the dress seemed like it would be too short.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much. I used a different type of trim and added a sash, leaving the neck without embellishment. I added a fabric loop for the button.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I did not like those self-fabric ruffles! I spent a long time trying to make them and finally gave up and added eyelet ruffles with ribbon trim. Not sure if the fabric was too heavy or if I was just hemming them wrong. I should probably try that ruffle attachment idea a previous reviewer suggested. For a simple dress, it seemed to take a long time to make.
Fabric Used:Cotton broadcloth
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the skirt longer.
I also added a sash so the dress will be more fitted when worn. I liked the opening in the back with the button. I think that is more comfortable for little girls than complex zipper closures.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I really wanted to make the style with the fairy skirt but the fabric choices in 60 inch weren't what I was looking for. I fell in love with this piggy print and it was 45 inches. Still, I really like the fullness of the skirt in this style and the ribbon adds some body to the hem.
Conclusion: I might make this again with a different trim and fabric. We will see how it fits my granddaughter.

What a cute dress! I laughed when I clicked on the thumbnail and saw piggy's. Thought the print was going to be flowers! Great fabric choice for a GD that shares the love of piggy's with her GM!!!

I almost bought some of that fabric--it's too cute! I like how you used eyelet, even if that wasn't the original plan.
