Pattern Description:
Really versatile top with flounce that covers upper arms, an elastic waist, and peplum.
Pattern Sizing:
Single size pattern. I used a size 14 without alterations and it fit nicely even though my waist measures about 2 inches larger than the StyleArc size chart.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Very much! (Except the part where the model has a young, lovely skinny body!!!)
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The directions were somewhat sparse so I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner, but between reading the neck binding tutorial on the StyleArc website and having read the wonderful review by JillyBe I was able power through it without any trouble! The top-stitching shown on the envelope was not referenced in the instructions, but is very simple to figure out.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Love the style of it!
Fabric Used:
Poly/Lycra blend w/40% crosswise stretch from GorgeousFabrics.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Following comments from JillyBe at http://sewing.patternreview.com/review/pattern/67538 I lined the sleeve flounces so no unfinished fabric was visible. Also made a casing for the waist elastic. I also did a binding on the edge of the underarm before assembling the top which gave a nice finished look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Absolutely. Great Pattern!
Conclusion:
I love StyleArc patterns -- (the age-appropriate ones for me anyway)
and compiled a list of the ones I wanted to order. I waited until the free pattern was one I could use and then ordered several at once. The shipping still killed me, but it's sooo worth it! I have already used them multiple times, with several variations.
