Pattern Description:
Twist drape dress with cap sleeves Pattern Sizing:
Marfy only come in individual sizing, I ordered a 42 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Absolutely! Were the instructions easy to follow?
There are no instructions but plenty of notations and marks to match up. They also include grain lines. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Beautiful looking flattering dress. Good coverage and such a lovely neckline. Fabric Used:
Valentino silk charmeuse and crepe de chine lining Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I ordered a 42 knowing I needed a 44 but they were out of stock, I had to increase the hips by 3" and grade the rest to match. If you order the correct size Marfys normally need little to no alterations. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew this again, I really love it. Its more cocktail than casual but would work in many fabrics. Just be prepared to be very patient, there is a lot of matching and pleating. Conclusion:
A great dress, so pleased. I can't tell if its because I ordered the wrong size but I will be lowering the bust a inch as its a little too baby doll right now, and this dress is short, build in some extra hem if you're not into the mini!
I have also put lots of pictures of construction on my blog..www.achallengingsew.typepad.com thx!
