Pattern Description:
Knit knee-length dress with front surplice (mock wrap) neckline, cut on sleeves and an easily customizable midriff section. Pattern Sizing:
30-50, I made size 30 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the order of sewing: fitting the bodice before attaching the skirt and sewing up the side seams last. I liked that the bodice does not gape. I liked how easy it was to adjust the fit. I like the flattering look of the dress. Fabric Used:
a thicker ponte knit Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used the shortest length of skirt then shortened it further by 1", I also sewed the bodice/waistband hem with a 1" seam allowance, I left out the pockets Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have sewed it twice now and would sew it again. The dress is easy to put together and comfortable to wear. I would highly recommend it to others as a good wardrobe builder as well. I was careful to choose a knit that had only a 2 way stretch as I didn't want to have to deal with the stretching out of a 4 way knit. Another thing is that by using a heavier ponte knit, the skirt sticks out just a teensy bit, but much more than my first version which was a lighter, cotton/lycra knit. Conclusion:
This pattern lives up to others' recommendations. It's easy to sew and really comfy to wear.
Love your dress! The fit looks great & the color is very rich looking.
