| Pattern Description:
"The Lola Bea Diaper Bag will bring you the best of both worlds - a bag that suits all your needs, and doesn't compromise on looks!"
Pattern Sizing:
NA
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Absolutely!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, with a few exceptions. The 46 pages include pattern and instructions. Whew!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the colored photos throughout the instructions. Also, this bag really is roomy and has lots of pockets, including an interior zippered pocket. My daughter loves the wide strap that is long enough to wear the bag cross body.
The only problem I encountered sewing this up had to do with the pattern pieces not being numbered in the instructions. The designer refers to each piece by it's name (e.g. exterior side gusset). As I sewed, I wrote the pattern piece numbers on the photos to minimize confusion the next time I make this.
The instructions call for fusible heavy weight interfacing AND fusible fleece on some pieces. I'm wondering if the fusible fleece alone would be sufficient. The bond didn't seem as strong using both interfacings. Also, it required 4.5 yards of fusible heavy weight...which, even with a coupon, was pricey!
Fabric Used:
Chevron striped cotton duck exterior with quilting cotton print lining. Both fabrics purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No changes made.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will likely sew this again at some point. I recommend this to anyone in search of an original design that is capacious, functional, and attractive.
Conclusion:
My daughter wanted a diaper bag big enough to tote baby stuff and her purse stuff. She also wanted one she could wear cross body. We had fun selecting the fabrics...she gets all the credit for this cute combo!

I made this bag, too in a chevron - love the look. Yours turned out great - brilliant! Cutting out and fusing were the hardest part and then of course, turning the strap and total finished bag inside out was challenging. I agree - it's an expensive bag to make. But I LOVE this bag pattern!
