| Pattern Description: A seamed bra pattern from Needle Nook Fabrics of Kansas.
Pattern Sizing:The pattern sizes are: 34 D-H cup though 48 D-H cup. I sewed a 36E with a few modifications. I used size 38 under wires.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? No. The cover of the pattern is a sketch (drawing) of a bra.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes; however, I did consult my bra sewing book and DVD.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like it because it fits. It is comfortable and, of course I can modify the bra to my own likes.
Fabric Used:Tricot/plush elastic/picot elastic. I purchased this fancy bra kit from Needle Nook Fabrics to sew this bra. I also have purchased another bra kit (in basic, boring white tricot) to sew another three bras. What is nice about these kits is EVERYTHING is there in the bag . . . except for the under wires, but I bought them there too.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I needed a bit more coverage on the sides and a smidgen more room in the circumference on the band. Not huge changes . . . but in bra making just a little tweak here and there makes a bra from being so-so to very comfortable.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would sew it again (and have!) I would recommended the pattern especially since Needle Nook Fabrics has an accompany book, Intimately Yours: Bras that Fit, which helps in the assembly and diagnosing fit issues, too. Also, if there are fit issues with the pattern, Needle Nook Fabrics provides excellent customer service.
I also used Bravo Bella's DVD Bras 102 - which provides step by step instructions on how to sew a bra; however the sewing demonstration is for a three piece cup bra vs the two piece cup bra that I was sewing - none the less, I still watched the DVD and found it very helpful.
Conclusion:
I took the Bra Making Class from Needle Nook Fabrics several years ago and sewed several bras using this pattern. I have worn those bras quite a bit because they are so comfortable vs any RTW bra I have owned. I sort of got caught up in all the bra sewing here on PR and other internet blogs and decided now was the time to sew up some more bras. So I pulled out all my bra paraphernalia which I keep in a box in my Fabric Closet and . . . . started stitching! For more info and many more pictures of my bra journey, please visit my blog |

Bravo for your bra making! :) I have not made Anne St. Clair's bras yet, but I always use her book that I love.
