8-22, I made a size 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Kinda.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very! I was a little confused when I first looked at the diagrams for the skirt, but it turned out that it was crystal clear once I got into the thick of things.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was really excited about making this pattern, because I really loved the pattern photo and the construction looked fun, but I'm a bit undecided about the fit of the result. The top is a bit more blousey than I would usually wear, and I'm wondering if I should have gone down a size. I think it would look better with a wide belt, although I couldn't find one in my closet that worked perfectly. It is really comfy, though, and I'm looking forward to giving it a test wear out on Thursday to see what I think.
Fabric Used:
A perfectly lovely cotton jersey that I bought on my first-ever visit to Mood Fabrics a month ago.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
After reading all the other reviews, and being 5'8", I lengthened the skirt by about six inches, which I think was probably a good idea, but I also wonder if it throws the proportions off balance. I may think about hemming it a little more.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably won't make another one of these, but I'm going to think about this garment a bit when I work on some other blouson patterns in my stash. I do think it's a perfectly lovely and easy to sew pattern, though!
Conclusion:
Jury's still out for me, but I do still like the idea of this pattern!
