Pattern Description: Semi-fitted dress has partially lined yokes, seam detail, no side seams, side front pockets, front exposed zipper and topstitching. I didn't do any of the top stitching because when I finish seams using my serger, my sewing machine does a crappy top stitch (I think the seam gets hung up on the feed dogs)
Pattern Sizing: Misses 4-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? almost... I added sleeves from another Vogue pattern
Were the instructions easy to follow? yes. This dress was fun and easy to make.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the color blocking, being able to use ponte knit, and the front zip. I also thought it would look cute with tights
Fabric Used: Ponte knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added sleeves. The dress was almost done, and I originally intended to wear a t-shirt under, but thought, I'd probably wouldn't find the right tee, and then I'd probably never wear it w/o a sweater because my arms are ... well, not my favorite feature (every year I say, I'm gonna work out with weights, and that's as far as that goes). then I thought, just add sleeves, I'll get much more wear out of it. So, I took the sleeve pattern from Vogue 8848 and they fit nicely together. I adjusted the facing...i.e., removed the armhole facing but kept the neck and front zip facings.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would recommend it, and maybe make it again (although it does have a distinct style)
Conclusion: what a fun project and a fun dress! More views

Really cute with the CF zipper. Good to know about V8848 being good for adding sleeves.
