|I just spent 30 minutes writing this review, and it disappeared into space. So here I go again. (-: Hope there won't be two of these.|
I have made FIVE of the sleeveless shell pattern. #3 is wearable, but has issues. #5, which I finished today, is wonderful! The others have gone bye bye to the wadder graveyard.
My problem with this pattern, and another that I recently made several times, is the huge amount of ease included. These resemble maternity tops. I'm not sure how to choose the size I want to end up with. Louise does put body measurements and finished garment measurements, but they don't seem to help me.
Even though there is so much ease, I still have to put a FBA in the pattern. The FBA increases the length by 1 1/4", but that still does not lengthen the front enough so it doesn't hike up. The weird thing is, I am NOT large busted. I must have a very small rib cage under what I do have to require so much FBA.
I also have had to put a HIGH ROUND BACK adjustment in this pattern and the other one I made. (I think it is called Relax A Little.)
For pictures and more details of the issues I encountered, please see my blog post here:
I love the style of this pattern, and I love the top-stitching. I will make it again, I'm sure, now that I have it almost perfect.
