Pattern Description:
I have made up the pants previously, this time I chose the skirt. It is a simple A-Line pattern, with pockets & contoured waistband.
Pattern Sizing:
I made the size 18-ish (16 waistband, 20 lower hips).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It is so comfortable, I wear it all the time.
I like the fly front for putting it on - it's casual but looks nice.
I also like the chevron effect of the stripes on the back waistband & side seams.
Fabric Used:
Vintage cotton corduroy. I made the inner pocket edge from some lining material, so they sit smoothly and are not too bulky.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made my big-bottom/small waist adjustment (added to the top center back, increased darts, cut 1 size smaller waistband). I could have added 1/2 " more to the back center, as the hem is still not quite level.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I would definitely sew this again, maybe in a gabardine or denim. |
