| Pattern Description:
Misses' knit dress, top or tunic with front band, can be made with yokes or straps, is sleeveless or long-sleeved.
I made dress A, sleeveless with front band and yokes (front and back).
Pattern Sizing:
A (6-16)
I used different sizes, varying from 8 to 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, with a contrasting front band, hem band and waist tie belt.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the self-lined and interfaced front band.
I like the yokes and the gathers below the front band.
Fabric Used:
Two Way Stretch Knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut and sewed the pattern pieces in different sizes:
-Size 14 for shoulders;
-Size 12 for yoke back neckline;
-Size 8 for bodice sides;
-Size 10 for the rest of the pattern.
I gave more flare to the dress by grading out to 14 from hips to hemline.
I made the front band in a contrasting fabric.
I used this same fabric to make an 2 1/2" wide hem band and a long tie belt.
I did not gather the lower edge of the front yokes.
I previously shortened the dress by 2 1/2" at hemline before adding the lower band.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is the second time I have used the pattern. The look of this second version is slightly different from the first one: no back band and no shoulder straps. But, it is still nice looking. I like the simplicity of the dress and I would recommend it to everyone.
Conclusion:
I like this version as much as the first one.
