| I am a recent returnee to sewing after decades of not touching my machine or a pattern. I made this top in one night, and it fits beautifully. I chose hte size based on the finished measurements printed on the pattern, with a very tiny bit of negative ease. This project was very easy, only three pieces and very clear instructions. I tried just doing a narrow hem on the back instead of using bias tape, and I think that came out ok. Next time -- and there will be a next time -- I will use a jersey that is the same on the right and wrong sides. The material I used has a printed pattern, and the back side is white. The drape of the cowl front tends to show the white side. I am just going to fix a bit of the cowl to the inside front to prevent that, probably with a fabric adhesive. Pic to follow. |
