Pattern Description:
Simplicity 4044 is a 1940s retro suit featuring trousers, a jacket with 2 views and a skirt. Pattern Sizing:
Several sizes are included, although I felt they all sewed up a bit large. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It did. Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were easy and straightforward. Only 4 pattern pieces to make the trousers. Although I felt the jacket instructions could have used another drawing. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
My favourite is the waistband of the skirt and trousers. Fabric Used:
Light Wool suiting in dark green. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Lengthened the trousers a tad, and the sleeves on the jacket. also adjusted the crotch on the trousers. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Oh yes to both. the trousers are great to add a lil vintage touch to your wardrobe be it for work or casual. I want to try the jacket again a tad smaller and in checks to play with the pieces placed on the bias. the jacket is also great if you are into ric rac or other embellsihments. Conclusion:
I love this outfit. it is comfy and fitted. The jacket came out big but thats my fault for not making a muslin. it was a rewarding expirience and easily adds some glamour to anyones wardrobe! try it!

Looks like a great outfit that you can mix/match the pieces with other garments. A great wardrobe builder! Love the color.

I didn't know that I liked 40s Vintage until I found myself drooling over several pieces. I have to try these pants. Your suit is fabulous!
