Pattern Sizing: I cut a size smaller than what the pattern suggested for my measurements and it was perfect.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very much so.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The only thing I didn't like was what so many others have also mentioned - the facings. I did make them wider to see if that helped, and it did as mine don't seem to roll out once I have everything 'settled'...but I haven't worn the dress out yet to see if the facings would pop out after some wear. I think next time I make this dress (and I will make it again!), I'll do extended facings - i.e. figure out how to add to the neckline a couple of inches and then fold in if that makes sense (the ITY was a dream to blind-stitch so I think this would work well).
Fabric Used: ITY Knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Thank You!!! to the over 100 reviewers that came before me. Thanks to you, I knew to extend the bodice by an inch (& next time I make this, I'll extend it a little more!). I also reduced the fullness of the skirt (thank you Jessamaka for describing your technique so well!).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I do plan to sew this again in a short sleeve version.
Conclusion: Great dress pattern that someone who knows the basics can tackle (I would agree with 'easy' but not 'very easy' lol. Also great first pattern for someone new to knits.

madbadger said... JennyQNY - yes, I did hand sew the hem, partly because I was practicing the technique (and it is soothing, lol) and partly because I just can't stand the way my machine stitched hems look. I did machine finish one the other day though, that i just didn't have time to hand sew and it looked better...it's my skill level with knits (I have nothing against machine sewn hems, lol). 4/24/13 6:22 PM
