The finished top looks really cute on you, but you are right: The pattern actually called for an entirely different fabric. The reason there is so much ease is that the pattern is designed for soft *woven* fabrics, and is to be cut on the bias. To get a flattering effect with bias-cut garments, you need a surprising amount of ease. Still, your finished tee is very becoming to you.

@Elona...thank you so much for your comment! I don't work with wovens that often, so I didn't realize they needed so much ease when cut on the bias. That explains it. I'll keep that in mind the next time I try to adapt a pattern! Thanks again!
