sorry, but it seems to me you've redesigned all the unique elements of the pattern right out of your dress. McCalls describes this as "loose-fitting bodice, raised waist...ruffles (raw-edge finish) with heading". a loose-fitting bodice is an essential player in the raised (more fit and flattering) waist, and the raw edge finish to the ruffles IS the dress. also, i want to point out that a size 10 of B takes only 2 3/8 yd to cut all the pieces including the ruffles. this isn't much more than any other dress pattern and besides if you have a double-ruffled dress you can count on it taking more fabric. to emphasize, this pattern takes a very reasonable amount of fabric for a dress with 2 full ruffles. my opinion = this isn't a review of M6694. sorry. no harm intended. i am in process of making the dress for my bff and am really disappointed that the only reviews have dramatically altered the pattern and thus fail to discuss precisely the unique elements of the design.
