Pattern Description: An easy to wear cardigan style jacket with a collar that extends into a loose hood meant for knit fabrics.
Pattern Sizing: size 16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, exactly like it except for the sleeve detail I added.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were a little vague. This pattern company expects you to have a basic sewing foundation. This pattern is relatively easy and the only tricky spots are the collar/hood center back seam which is exposed if you follow their directions. I stitched it wrong sides together as recommended by Ann at Gorgeous Fabrics. The joining of the back neckline with the base of the collar hood is a little awkward if you don't get the seam lines exactly right (the collar lays a little off).
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the full pattern pieces. I like the style. The only dislike I had was the length, which I shortened dramatically. Anyone who is petite will have to make some dramatic changes. The sleeves ran about 5" long too. I think this pattern just runs long (if I were to make them to my wrists.
Fabric Used: beige sweater knit with a zebra gold foil surface treatment.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened the body length by 5.25" so it hits the top of my butt. I shortened the sleeves to knuckle length for faux gloves/wrist warmers. Because of the fabric treatment and how I used it with the hood/collar, I made the bottom 6" of the sleeves with the print showing, so there's a style line just above my wrist.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would sew it again, but not yet. I need other clothes first. I would definitely recommend this pattern to anyone!
Conclusion: This fast and easy pattern produces excellent and stylish results!
