I'm scared about step 11 now. I just bought this pattern and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Love this jacket! You could definitely line it with the fuzzy fleece material and then you could tell your MIL that you saved a lot of money. I paid $30 for a jacket just like that! Plus like you said, your son can tell everyone mom made it and that's sooo worth it!

I agree with meggipeg. They are only cheap because our own manufacturers can't compete with cheap prices ie slave labour. However you made a fantastic coat and made your son very happy - priceless. Thanks also for all the details - they will be very helpful when I get to this.

Tell you MIL that you are saving underpaid sweatshop workers by making this yourself. It looks so cute. It took me a while to decipher Step 11 too :)
