Classic jacket with princes seam Pattern Sizing:
Petite, 12 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
The finished jacked looked somehow like the drawing on the envelope, but I've added some changes to the design. Were the instructions easy to follow?
I did not follow the instructions. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I did not like the amount of ease, and this is a general concern since Vogue adds a lot of ease to its patterns. According to the size chart, I am a 12, but after the fitting I ended up to match size 8! Fabric Used:
I used cotton tweed as fashion fabric and crepe-de-chine for the lining. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I considerably modified the neckline and the front hem and did not use pockets. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would not recommend this patter to other seamstresses. Instead I'd suggest this BurdaStyle pattern which is much easier to work with. Conclusion:
Again, I came to conclusion that Vogue patterns are not that great. In the future, I'll draft my own patterns or try to find similar patterns on BurdaStyle or independent pattern-making companies.
