Great job!! Thanks for sharing the trials and tribulations of the process. That is so cool that your BF willingly would wear this. My dh, would just giggle about it!

Great job. Fantastic fabric w/ the cutwork on the edges; gives a much more intricate look to the tunic.

Another fantastic costume! Love the open lace detail (whatever you call it). Why are tall guys so hard to fit? Can't they just keep still for a minute? :-)

You guys both look great! I think your colour choice for him of 'forest green' was well-done; even though on-screen Aragorn's outfits look pretty much black/grey the real costume has more colour - the designer described his Ranger outfit as mostly a 'licorice green'. Fake suede is wonderful to sew with isn't it? I love it. I have sewn vinyl before too, on my regular machine, and it is hard - I managed with leather needles, long stitches and going very slowly. If you ever want to find real leather for costume pieces again, consider buying a coat or other garment from a thrift store and cutting it up - it's cheap and you can get leather that looks weathered and beaten in if you want. Same applies for fur. Great costumes! I was in Wellington for the Two Towers premiere - such fun! :-)

*swoon* there's just something about a man in a tunic and cloak... I think I'll have to make DH something like this, hehe.
