craigrama you make a good point. Arms down! I do tend to bounce about. I've started collecting freaky quilting cotton and strange prints; I am working on the premise that if the eye is held by the fabric, it will pay less attention to the seams. Plus, why make something if it looks readymade. I think my main fustration comes from being slow to learn with anything creative (my son has to flower arrange) and also some of the 'easy' patterns still presume a quantity of knowledge I have yet to acquire.

Great first garment. Now that you did it, do it again soon. The practice will make you faster and more confident. As long as you don't start dancing with your arms in the air, no one will see the underarm slipstitching :)

It looks great and very well made. I doubt anyone will get close enough to look at the underarms but you corrected it and learned from it. I find sometimes just that makes sewing a pattern worth it.
