The fit and drape on your pants is really really lovely. Great suggestion to combine the pants patterns like that--definitely will incorporatet that little trick.

I've made 2938 and had a similar feeling about it that you did. I liked them, but the the legs felt too loose. I appreciate your comparison with 3114 and the Euro pant. I've been wanting to try those two patterns too. (By the way, I hope it's o.k. to mention here, that I'm currently offering 2938 for free on the classifieds.)

P.S. And I must agree it looks like you got a perfect fit. Congratulations! Lovely fabric, too.

Nice pants! I am presently fitting a muslin for the Euro pant and am having a problem with the crotch curve, so perhaps, I should get this Burda and try the morphing routine. Thank you so much for the review.

Chris, your pants look GREAT! Perfect fit, and very, very flattering. Oh, and you're welcome for the STP. LOL!

Very sleek! In the side view you thoughtfully provided, you can certainly see the beautiful drop that the Burda crotch curve provides: No under-the-derriere wrinkles.

Very flattering fit on you. I like the drape of the fabric too. They look very comfortable and stylish.

Congratulations -- your hard work and ingenuity really paid off with a terrific fit and great looking pants. How is the waist finished?

They look fantastic - congratulations on getting such a good fit (the pants holy grail!)

Diane, the waist is finished with a wee waistband (5/8"), I've edited my review to show this tip/technique. Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

These really fit and hang nicely. I think you are right these are "the" ones. Lucky you!

Your pants look very nice on you. I too wish I could lengthened my legs. Good review. I have yet to make a pair of pants to fit well but I quit trying. One day though!! Helpful review.

These pants look great! I recently made Vogue 7912 which is a wide leg pant that was reviewed by drsue. They are nice, and easy to fit to my size11 waist and size 15 hips. However, the legs are too voluminous. Then I made Burda 3114. I used a 12 waist, 14 hips and 16 thighs (I think!) These look great but seem a little too shapely. And I think I need just a bit more fabric in the back. Your idea seems like the perfect solution! I hope it is as easy to morph the two patterns as you make it seem! Perhaps my perfect pants are on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have just come back to sewing after a gap of 20 years and I am looking for a decent trouser pattern.
