I am hoping to try this pattern and am happy to hear about another success with it! Looking forward to seeing your picture.

Congratulations on your success! I really dread zippers, too. I don't know why--they're really not that terrible. It's really nice to have this site where we can ask questions, though. I always know I can get help if I get stuck!

Ying, those pants look terrific! The flare looks nice, and it would look less dressy without it. I also hate zippers. I know how you feel...

Love the pants - I think they are a great fit - great job!

Glad you had such good success. Your zipper looks good for your first try. Congrats.

Great job - and I think the zipper looks fine! I'll have to try them in denim now, too!

Congratulations on your first review. Your pants look like they fit you well -- your alterations apparently worked.

Well done. Nice looking pair of pants. I love this pattern too, although I need quiet a few alterations to make them fit me. Lucky you, that they look so great out of the envelope.

Congrats on doing the zipper! Yes, I agree, it does look like RTW. Looks like your cat wants some attention, also. :)

Way to go! I'm with your husband, they don't look too tight through the hips to me either. And I really like the flare leg--it's a nice balance to your va va voom curves.

:o) *Great* job, Ying!! I think your DH is right-they do look RTW and they really flatter you! Thanks for posting the pictures :o) I want these too!

Your pants turned out great, you should make more!

Sometimes the "right size" is the one that feels the best. Burda pants have the best fit, so if this size fits you with the smaller s.a., go with it! I would think that the next size up would be too big everywhere else. According to my measurements, I also am an 18, but I regularly sew 16 and add to the hip area. I just made a Burda pant in a 18 and I am still having to take it in a bit here and there. So back to the 16's for me! This is a wonderful job on your first pair of pants! I wish my first pair looked that good! Welcome to PR Ying!

Ying - these look great congratulations. I think the fit is great. You have convinced me to get this pattern - the front picture always puts me off!

"You have convinced me to get this pattern - the front picture always puts me off! " And why is that, Peggy? You don't *like* doilies appliqued on your pants??? I've used this pattern several times for the DD, and it's one of my favorite success stories. It had not occurred to me to use it for myself until I read this review and checked out the fit in the picture. Thanks for the lightbulb moment, Ying!

Karla - might be because it reminds me of a pair of striped pants I made in college - and I thought I was way cool!!!

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. We took the pictures at 1am in the morning and we couldn't get a full length picture without Junie (the cat) in it. I decide it was OK to let him in on the fun and I'm sure everyone here enjoyed seeing him.
