This is a Hobo type bag Pattern Sizing:
15 wide by 11 tall by 4 deep Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were pretty minimal, fortunately it is an easy bag. The black and white pictures could have been improved as well. The instructions were not as good as you would find in patterns by Lazy Girl, Sewphisti-Cat or Studio Kat. Yet the price is similar. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I fell in love with the quilted design in the front. And it turned out very pretty. But I wondered as I made it, if the purse front and back would be strong enough, and they are not. After 2 weeks of use, the front is already sagging because of the weight of my 2 pairs of glasses (no glass cases) in the inside pockets. The only Timtex in this bag is in the side. The front/back is batting and Decor Bond, and it just isn't strong enough. My other dislike, is that the opening is small when compaired to the depth of the purse. It makes hunting for stuff in the bottom of the purse harder than it should be.
I do like the length of the handle, and the purses' size are perfect for me. But I'm not in love with it.
Moda batik, Cool Breezes mostly Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No I followed the instructions exactly. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would neither sew it again nor reccomend it. There are soooooo many purse patterns nowadays. Conclusion:
Update after one month of use. I now love the handle but hate the rest of the purse. The opening is just too small; just putting your wallet back into the purse is harder than it should be. The bag is pretty soft and that makes the small opening a problem. A lot of the time my wallet hangs up on a pocket when I'm putting it in. Made myself a new purse and shelved this one.
