Pattern Description: perfect summer shorts

Pattern Sizing:0-18

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

Great pattern and instructions and there is a tutorial with pictures online: http://grainlinestudio.com/2012/07/26/sewing-tutorial-maritime-shorts-a-variation/

I was surprised at what a breeze the front fly was...and it was my first time doing one. Only part that I could have used more hand holding for was actually the first step of sewing the pocket to the pocket lining since i found i couldn't do it without first clipping notches around the curves of the pocket lining and eased around the curve as I sewed (rather than clipping after that seam is sewed as indicated in the instructions and tutorial). Not sure if that's just a rookie things, since I'm still pretty new to garment sewing.

Fabric Used:denim with slight stretch (remnant from fabricland)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did a muslin first and found that I had to grade up the waist band (slash and spread the back waistband piece) to accommodate my lack of a waist (after 2 babies). Also added an inch to length. Otherwise, it fit is perfect!

Would you sew it again? Definitely! May try to make capris and pants too by lengthening the pattern since it only have a 1/4 inch hem and I prefer an 1 inch hem.

Would you recommend it to others?
yes!

Conclusion: Perfect shorts indeed
