This is a GREAT pattern.
1. It has facings! Real facings!
2. During construction, the facings are sewn directly to the back yoke lining so "facing flaps" won't occur!
This method of sewing facings is the best I have ever encountered and highly recommend it.
I made the sleeveless version, but omitted the collar. The dress was shortened approximately 10" to an above the knee length. Top stitching was omitted other than center fronts.
The waist darts are a bit extreme - most likely due to the vintage date. I would recommend marking them initially, but not stitching them until after finishing the dress so that final fit can be adjusted.
The silk noil is a dream fabric to work with (and wear). It has a nice drape, which works well with this design. Stiffer fabric might not work as well.
