|Pattern Description: |
Close-fitting, casing with elastic.
View D: front leg seaming and small zipper at inner leg seam.
XS - XL. I made the Small size
Here's the full story about these tights.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes they did. And they functioned well during a workout in cold wearther. No chafing.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were easy to follow.
I love adding in the inside seam zipper so you can pull these leggings over your running shoes without struggling.
I tried sewing in the zipper without Steam a Seam and the fabric buckled. Then I resewed them in and the result was perfect.
Here is the contrasting orange zipper against the grey purple fabric.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This pattern runs big. You'll see this with previous reviewers. So while the pattern indicated I should make the medium I cut out the small and at certain points, I made it extra small.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
In the previous version I used a two-way stretch.
This version uses a one-way stretch so after realising my ankles were freezing, I then added a 5cm band at the bottom of the leg and resewed in the zipper.
This worked a dream. And that was the only difference I experienced with this version with the two types of fabric.
I took the knee in a bit at the outer leg seam by 3cm, because I have large leg muscles for my size.
This version has a 32mm wide elastic and these legging waistband sits comfortably where they should sit, just on my waist.
I had increased the depth of the centre back seam so it was easy to sew on the waistband with the elastic in it. I used this one-step process so there was no need to thread the elastic into the waistband after attaching it to these leggings.
I have used contrasting threads on the front seaming with the coverpro. The colours used are not wildly different, but the seaming is noticeable.

Cotton lycra with one-way stretch.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. This is perfect for wearing to the gym if you can get the right fabric.
You can use this for lounging around but who has the time to lounge when you sew?
I would recommend checking the stretch of their fabric before making up these leggings.
Reading the pattern reviewers helped me make the right size choice and notion choice.
