|Pattern Description: |
"Semi-fitted, A-line, above mid-knee, pullover dresses, some views have seam detail, pocket, drape, topstitching and narrow hem."
Sizea 8 to 14 and 16 to 22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked that the many pattern pieces fit perfectly to each other. I don't love the pocket. I'd consider making a different style of pocket another time.
I used 100% cotton knit and a light weight cotton stretch denim
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made View C and ended up cutting size 10 above the chest and 12 below. I made a smaller than usual FBA. I usually cut size 12 with sometimes extra at the side seams and always add a one inch FBA for a DD chest.
I didn't need any extra at the side seams . I sewed the back darts deeper and shaped the center back seam as well as the .side seams at the waist.
I raised the armholes about 3/4" and the neckline 1/2".
The length was perfect for my 5'4" height.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would sew it agiain . I'd like to try View A. I'd recommend it if you want a loose fitting dress. If you want it more fitted, perhaps make some of the changes I suggested above.
This was a fun garment to make. It has all kinds of possibilities for colour blocking, top stitching, etc. Go for it if you need a cool dress to wear on hot summer days.
