|Pattern Description: From the pattern envelope includes straight-leg pants and shorts with elastic waist and slant hip pockets. Includes choice of hidden facing or facing showing for both pockets and waise.|
Pattern Sizing:Typical Jalie range 12 months (80 European) to womens 22 (52 European). I made a size K for my slim 7-year-old. I only used the height to determine measurement.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, except for a few changes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the directions were easy to follow. At first I was a little intimidated as these seemed pretty long for a straight forward pair of pants, but the instructions were detailed for both pants/shorts with the facing showing or hidden facings (and once you choose either hidden facings or facing showing you'll only need half the directions).
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love Jalie's range of sizes, illustrations, and concise, but clear directions. I print off the directions from the Jalie website Click Here for instructions.
Fabric Used: I used a cotton flannel remnant from Joann's that was a little bit too short, so I just sewed a strip of white flannel to the end and cut my pieces from the pieced flannel. I also used white flannel for the pockets and facings because I had absolutely no leftovers from the pink flannel. I really, really wanted to use it for pajama pants though.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I sewed the white strip to the end of my pink flannel before cutting out the pattern pieces. I also topstitched a bit more than the directions called for, but nothing major.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, and yes. I am excited to try some pairs of shorts from these.
Conclusion: I think this is another Jalie winner that can probably adapted for use with a lot of different fabrics.
