Pattern Description: Hummingbird- 4 distinct and interchangeable styles inspired by vintage and modern couture, and translated into wearable separates:
Knit Top with horseshoe neckline, cap or elbow length sleeves and a seamless four-leaf-clover-shaped peplum. Optional mid-century sewing challenge: dickey and bias cuffs from woven shirting fabric.
Pattern Sizing: 30-55
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were great. They were very thorough and came on one big fold out sheet that could be hung and referred to easily.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I freaking loved the sizing. It uses bust and waist measurement, but also front waist measurement which helped the peplum hit in the most flattering spot. I loved that!
Fabric Used: Jersey - Lycra blend knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened the neckband piece and sewed it in the round to make it a bit more modest. You can see more on that in my blog.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I love this top and plan on making quite a few. It did not use much fabric and wears as comfortably as a T-shirt, but a little dressier. I totally recommend the pattern. I can't wait to try the skirt as well!
Conclusion: This was my first Cake Pattern, and I really liked it. I will order more in the future. If you would like to read more, you can on my blog.
