|Pattern Description: |
Misses' semi-fitted dress with slightly flared skirt in two lengths, has a shaped raised waistline with front and back darts on bodice, back zipper, scoop neckline and tie ends, can be made with or without sleeves.
I sewed view B, the sleeveless dress.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it looks like it, excepted mine is longer. It also has a higher neckline with a knot and front gathering below shoulder seams.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the bias tie ends that are long enough to go around the waist.
I was glad to see that the dress was easy to alter.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Using the size 10 of the pattern, I raised the front neckline by 1" and the back neckline by 5/8", then I shortened the bodice by taking 1" in both shoulder seams.
Resulting from these alterations and comparing to the original size 10, the front neckline is higher by 2", the back neckline raised by 1 5/8" and the bottom of the armholes moved up by 1".
The skirt side seams were sewn in my usual size 12 and the rest of the pattern in size 10.
I added 7" in length to the dress at hemline.
I made knots to wrap around the front neck and armhole edges below shoulder seams.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is the third dress I made using the same pattern. If I sew it again, I will try out the version with short sleeves (view D).
I would recommend this pattern to everyone since all the pieces were easy to put together.
Dress very funny, simple and easy to make.
