Balloon top with pleats placed at one shoulder that create that great draped effect.
34-42, I made my regular size 36
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it looks like the photo. Since the neckline is too wide, a small cowl forms during wear just like on the photo. The drawing shows a straight neckline.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, there is a picture sewing course for this pattern in the issue. But even though Burda calls it an easy pattern, I think it's rather an intermediate pattern with the pleats and the double layer.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love how the top drapes and that it is quite an eyecatcher. Don't like the fit of the pattern, the armholes are way too low (approx. 3 cm) and show the bra. The neckline is too wide to lay flat.
Digitally printed cotton-silk, light weight and drapy.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Probably won't sew it again due to bad fit and I only need one of these tops in my wardrobe.
I'm in love with this summer top even though the fit of the pattern is not the best. Since I would have to modify the pattern and this is quite outstanding, I will probably not sew this pattern again.
