|Pattern Description: |
Short-sleeved American Apparel T-shirt for layering.
White cotton-lycra knit from my stash.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Made the sleeves a little longer to be more flattering on me than cap sleeves. I have marked on the pattern to change the sleeve cap to make it less flared, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue with this particular version of the t-shirt, maybe because of the longer sleeves.
Since my serger is in questionable repair, I tried using a hand-wound bobbin of wooly nylon and a double needle on my regular machine to do the top-stitching. It still skipped stitches, but seems to be a lot more stretchy than using regular thread. We'll see if the hems holds up to repeated wearings without unraveling!
Would you sew it again?
Yes, it's a great basic wardrobe piece.
Yet another t-shirt. Pictures are always the most difficult part of sewing for me, so they will follow at some point!
