|Pattern Description: (From the envelope) Loose-fitting, above knee pullover dress has elasticized front and back neckline, short sleeves and top-stitched hems.|
Pattern Sizing: 8-16, 18-24 (I used a size 12)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? For the most part. I did have to refer to the illustrations for the explanation of the sleeve and facing assembly. First time I had seen them done that way, and to me, the text wasn't real clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The overall comfort of the dress.
Fabric Used: I didn't use a knit, as the pattern called for. Instead, I used a crinkled gauze, and there seemed to be sufficient stretch to it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Added 4" to the length, shortened both the front and back elastic pieces. (I highly recommend basting the dress and sleeves together before stitching and serging them all together. So much easier to adjust the fitting that way!) I found no need for the lingerie straps, so omitted them.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I probably won't make it again for myself, but do recommend it to others.
Conclusion: I think it's a very cute, and extremely comfortable, dress.
