|Pattern Description: |
Sleeveless dress with v shaped bust darts, a side zip, and pleated skirt.
I cut a 10 in the shoulders, blended to a 14 at the waist, and then down a 12 at the hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very clear and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a little bit unusual for a summer dress with the v-shaped darts.
Cotton twill for the top half, and a lighter cotton for the bottom. The twill was a bit too heavy and probably not the best choice.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added a full lining because the fabrics were slightly sheer. I also lowered the armholes by about 1/2". I wish I had lowered the waistline by maybe half an inch, because it hits slightly higher than my natural waist.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is the second version of this dress I've made, so I think it's time to retire it for a while. I would recommend it to others.
It's a cute dress, but I think it works better with lawns and other lighter cottons than the twill I selected. A full write up with more pictures can be found over at my blog.
