Pattern Description: This is a set of tops with sleeve and collar variations for woven fabrics. Best of 2012. I used view A in this garment, 3/4 length sleeve, plain faced boat neck.
Pattern Sizing: 8-18. I made 16 with an FBA that I developed with an earlier wearable muslin, view E in a less exotic fabric.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Good pattern for wovens.
Fabric Used: This a a deep-stash fabric, bought 10 years ago as a remnant in Italy from a fabric outlet I found in one of my guidebooks while on tour in Lake Como. It's a Giorgio Armani silk charmeuse in brown with rust/white flowers. I think it cost 10-15 euros. It has lingered in my stash because I needed something special to do with it and I didn't have a lot of yardage. This is a difficult fabric to sew and cut. I hand finished the seam allowances by overcasting with poly embroidery thread, hand-hemmed it. Used a sew-in light crisp interfacing for the facing pieces. I'm happy to cross this fabric off my fabric stash list. It actually coordinates with my velvet Ginger skirt, also made recently from deep stash.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I refined the FBA to lower then lengthwise dart and to slim it a bit. The fit is still not entirely perfect and I'm not totally happy about the neck facings. (which don't lie flat even after under stitching). It needs a better press too.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Not sure.
