Pattern Description: Dress: close-fitting bodice and slightly flared skirt has bodice variations, back zipper and is below mid-knee length. B: contrast band, tie belt and purchased flower. C: tie belt. D: purchased ribbon and bow trim. E: purchased ribbon bow.
I went for View E minus the belt.
Pattern Sizing: 8-22. I cut the 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes - with my obvious length alteration.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes - this would be a good pattern for beginners to learn sewing princess seams and a fitted bodice, with a zip thrown in for good measure. However, the process for all of these is the most straightforward that I have encountered.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The choice of photo on the pattern envelope.... Haha, in all seriousness, I really liked how simple the lines were and how flattering th efkirt is without being too full.
Fabric Used: Underlined lace @ £3.99/metre purchased from Fabricland
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I took out alot of fabric at the waist and shortened the skirt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes. I would really like to make the view with the cap sleeves.
Conclusion: Great pattern to have in the stash, especially if you have some nice fabrics to showcase. Lots of design variations to keep it interesting too! As always, more info on my BLOG
