|Pattern Description: Misses Dress|
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not exactly. I used this pattern and modified it to fit the inspiration top.
The Inspiration Top
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't really follow the instructions because I used this as the base to modify the dress to create the top.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the flounced lapels as they helped me create the final look.
Fabric Used:I used a stretch Taffeta
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Well, the inspiration top had the double lapel flounces, so I cut those out twice and lined the lower flounce but I just serged the top lapel because I wanted it to stand up a bit. I shortened the dress to waist length. I also lined the top and lengthened the sash a bit so I would have the longer length.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This was pretty unique. I don't know that I would make this exactly the same again. It was for my daughter's wedding and it was great for the event.
Conclusion: I loved creating this outfit. I like the final result.
